PT School Interview Questions to Ask

So your physical therapy school interview is coming up! From the previous blog post and videos, you were able to get yourself as prepared as you can for the interview. Now, what about at the end of the interview? Usually at the end, the interview panel will give you time to ask your own questions for them to answer. Uh oh... Do you have any questions prepared? Will it make you look bad if you don't ask any questions? Although it won't leave the best impression about you if you don't ask any questions, asking certain questions will leave you with the best impression!
Lucky for you, here are eleven questions that you can ask at the end of your interview! Try to ask only about 1 or 2 from this list.
- What is the program doing to continue to improve the success of its students?
- What is the professor-student relationship like?
- How do professors help students when they are struggling to learn classroom concepts?
- What does it take for a student to fail out of a program? Are there multiple chances to fix behavior or is it a hard fail?
- What are the volunteer opportunities that this program participates in?
- Does this program participate in pro-bono clinics and do students get to be a part of that?
- What are the research opportunities?
- Do professors participate in active research?
- What would your program pride itself on? What are its strengths?
- What does a student’s life/habits have to look like to be successful in your program?
- During my research of your program, I noticed (blank). Could you share more about that?
Asking these questions will help you see if this program is for you. It will also show the interview panel that he/she really cares about their success, cares about the program, and/or have done a lot of research!

You can always think of a question during the interview and ask that at the end.

You can write down these questions on a notepad and take it to your interview. There is nothing wrong with coming a little prepared!
